Bribery: Police Accuse Senator Of Spreading Falsehood

The Nigeria Police Force (NPF) has accused Senator Isah Misau of spreading falsehood about alleged bribe for special promotions of senior police officers.
Police spokesman CSP Jimoh Moshood, said yesterday in a reaction to the report that the IGP set up a special panel to investigate the allegations. Moshood said the panel sent two invitation letters to Senator Misau - one through the Senate President and another directly to him - to provide evidence in written form to substantiate his allegations and assist the panel. Moshood said Misau declined both invitations and when some members of the panel visited him, he refused to make statement on his allegations. Moshood said Misau was being charged with several acts of serious misconducts, unprofessional wrongdoings and other forms of improper behavior, and that he was under Pending Disciplinary Matter (PDM), to appear and face Force Disciplinary Committee (FDC) when he hurriedly exited from the Force, adding that this could explain his motives against the Force.
