Senate cabal using Misau to tarnish Buhari--CDC

The Concerned Democrats of Conscience (CDC) has accused Senator Isah Misau (APC, Bauchi Central) of being used by a c abal in the senate to tarnish the image of the Inspector General of Police (IGP), Ibrahim Idris, as part of a scheme to blackmail President Muhammadu Buhari.

CDC National President, Alhaji Ibrahim Modibbo, told reporters yesterday in Abuja at the end of the organisation’s 40th extra-ordinary meeting, that it was unfortunate that Senator Misau could use his privileged position to rubbish the police as an institution.

“We are concerned at the recent development in the National Assembly where a cabal is desperately embarking on character assassination, blatant lies and outright falsehood to discredit loyal appointees of the president as a final onslaught to launch a vicious war against the administration of President Muhammadu Buhari.

“They are not happy with the reforms introduced by the IGP Ibrahim Idris, as such policies and programmes have stepped on big toes and ruffled some feathers of some perceived untouchables, hence the deliberate effort to break the defence line of the president with a view to leaving him vulnerable to the vagaries of political opponents and unrepentant critics,” Modibbo said.
